Clafouti

This delightful dessert is one that most French grandmothers make on a regular basis. This recipe is the classic, original version made with whole cherries, stones and all. The cherries can be replaced by other fruit, such as plums, prunes, peaches (halved & de-stoned) or any type of berry.



8 Servings


Ingredients:

125gr flour

100gr sugar

2 eggs

250ml milk

1 tbsp vanilla

400gr cherries

2-3 tbsp butter


Instructions:

Heat oven to 200c.

Sift flour into a bowl and add sugar.

Mix well before adding eggs & slowly mixing in milk & vanilla.

Place the cherries in a round baking tray.

Pour over the batter & dot surface with nuggets of butter.

Bake for 30 minutes.
